QUICK LOOK
- 11cm capacitive touchscreen
- Magnetic mount to windscreen docking station
- 2-hour battery life
- Bluetooth hands free calling
- 220 grams
- 4GB internal flash memoryIf playing a “spot the car without a GPS” game is anything to go by, you’ll notice that a GPS has become a necessary accessory for most drivers as they make their way from Point A to Point B. I like to think of myself as a lady with fun taste, but I have yet to find a GPS with pink diamante design to go with this quirky taste… However the TomTom GO LIVE 1000 makes up for it’s plain design by impressing the spark plugs off of Bullet (my car) and me with its amazingness.

Coming from a very ungeeky upbringing of regular Hi-Fi systems without fancy connections and adaptors, I was very excited to try out this set of speakers. And living with an Apple-freakazoid fiance, I was able to try out a range of Apple’s music devices (a 2nd generation iPod nano, an iPod classic, an iPhone 3GS and an iPhone 4) with the system. If the fiance’s iPad had fitted, I’m sure I would have tried that too!

My first impressions of dislike and unease unfortunately stayed for the duration of my review. I did try to keep an open mind and even went so far as getting my usual phone hidden away in order to keep my SIM in the X6. Although I’m making the X6 out to be a completely useless phone (which is not my intention), there were a few things that I did like.
