An idea was born yesterday… It began through a simple conversation on Twitter where two ladies were worrying over their wardrobes and how their clothes did not fit their age/personality/etc. And I butted in saying how a wardrobe works best on a few key staples and then just adding a few items to keep with the current trend so you don’t have to spend a fortune each new season. And apparently I said the right thing because these two ladies want my help in a “what not to wear” kinda way…

I’m far from an expert but I do think that I put together outfits that suit my body and my personality quite well. So I started to wonder whether there were any other ladies out there (in Joburg) that wanted a little help on the subject… So let me know if it’s something you’d want my help with and we’ll take it from there!

Continued from part 11

First a recap…
His Sexiness had popped the question and the wedding planning began. It was all running smoothly, too smoothly perhaps?! Just as we were about to hand out our invitations and start the count down to the big day…the wedding got called off!

It’s almost been a year since the day we told our friends and family our special day was not happening. BUT a lot can happen in a year… Fighting, crying and shouting (at each other, or just by myself), talking things through to get to the route of the problem, analysing every aspect… In the end we realised what we wanted, which direction we wanted to head in, and who we wanted to share the journey with… So yes, the engagement ring is back on, the wedding is being planned, but mostly…we’re just looking forward to kicking things off as soon as possible because once you know you want to be with someone, you can’t get there soon enough!

Continues in part 13 soon…

1. Summer days mean blue skies seen through a mess of raindrops on the windscreen
2. Summer days mean sugar cones and soft serve ice-cream
3. Summer days mean making the most of the clothing sales
4. Summer days mean afternoon thunderstorms where grey clouds chase away the blue skies

1. An awesome lighting concept.
2. Tree-spotting in the suburbs.
3. I thought we were having cocktails?!

With Christmas being just a few sleeps away, I thought this post should be themed around it…

1. The hand-painted present I gave to my boss for Christmas
2. I had to use my bed to wrap this super large present (and a very large piece of wrapping paper)
3. Some Christmas cheer earrings spotted during our year end tea at the Westcliff
4. Using my creativity with leftover wrapping paper (see here for the post)

Last Thursday night we got to enjoy some scrumptious eggnog while visiting Gary’s sister and brother-in-law. The eggnog was delicious and was very easy to make… So I am sharing the recipe with you so that you can get into the Festive mood considering Christmas is this weekend! (Eeeeek!!)

To serve a maximum of 2 people:
1 egg (whisked)
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
Whiskey

Add all the ingredients together and whisk. Then add enough whiskey to taste. It’s best to serve the eggnog chilled.

Enjoy!!

Ever wondered what to do with extra bits of Christmas wrapping paper?! Well today I discovered a creative way of using the itty-bitty leftovers…

Step One:
Source the leftover wrapping paper.

Step Two:
Grab a pair of scissors and cut out the characters or designs that aren’t half cut off.

Step Three:
Stick the wrapping paper cut-outs on your present.

If you’re going the route of a gift voucher, simply find a plain envelope and stick the cut-out on the envelope to jazz it up. If you’ve got a too-big-to-fit-in-an-envelope sized gift, and if you’ve got plain wrapping paper, then stick the cut-outs on the wrapped gift to add some Christmasy excitement.

If you try it out, please let me know!

Nobody wants to know how anti-virus works. We just want to know that it’s keeping our computers out of the line of fire. And as much as I had no idea how to review AVG Internet Security 2012, I could definitely see that it works…

I recently got hooked on Instagram. And after viewing other people’s pics, I came to realise that they had an app which allowed them to have two, three or more pics side-by-side in one pic. I had to have this app so I asked Twitter yesterday what it was called. Diptic. But Diptic was too expensive for my liking (at 99c) so the cheapskate that I am downloaded Frametastic which is free (for the time being I think). And I am loving it! I played with it a bit last night and today and have since suggested it to a few of my friends/followers and they’re loving it too. If you’re looking for a new app, see what you can create below and decide for yourself if you’ll be downloading it.

There are 18 unlocked frame options available which means countless ways to make your photos come alive. You can then choose one of five different themes to add a little something more to your pics.

Once you’ve chosen your frame, you then select a pic per section. I prefer to have taken all my pics so that I can choose from my Library, but you are able to take a pic on the spot too. Once you have chosen your pics the fun begins! If you touch a specific pic and select Apply Effects, you are taken to a menu allowing you to choose from a multiple of filter effects.

Once you are happy with the pics chosen and their filter effects, the last two things on your to-do list before saving is to choose the colour of your frame (A) and how rounded you want the edges of the frame to be (B).

The final steps include 1. select Save to Phone as this app does not save automatically to your Camera Roll, and 2. select Twitter, Facebook or Instagram to post directly to these applications.

So pic 1 is a singular “frame” with the edges rounded, pic 2 is two “frames” with the Museum theme, and pic 3 is three “frames”.

My creative side is super keen to try out every frame option, each filter effect, each frame colour… If your creativity is yearning for a fun new app, download this one and let me know what you think!
